The Putnam County Public Works department is a long-time customer of Palmer Trucks. 

We recently sat down with Michael Ricketts, supervisor at Putnam County, to discuss the impact of Muncie Power Products and Palmer Power & Truck Equipment on their operations. 

We were able to further our accountability and reliability with the citizens of Putnam County, and we are now more efficient. With the Muncie system, we are able to really show where and how we’re doing our work. I’m able to see where the trucks have been, and how much material was used on a given job. Previous models we’ve used only have a turn knob and an on-off switch, so this has made everyone’s jobs so much easier and more enjoyable!

Before working with Palmer, we didn’t know how to spec out a truck. I didn’t realize all of the little details that are involved with that process, but learned so much. We were able to truly customize our trucks to fit our specific applications. 

We also asked Michael about how what his team does affects the lives of the citizens in Putnam County.

These trucks are the heart of the county. From plowing snow to hauling gravel or dirt, we have to depend on these trucks for it all. Michael detailed some of the jobs that have really tested his trucks. 

Obviously plowing large amounts of snow, but we also load them full of dirt and take them to farmers who need it dumped in a certain spot. You can tell a lot about a truck in the way it handles jobs like that. 

As a testament to his overall experience with Palmer Trucks and Muncie Power Products, Michael mentioned that this relationship has definitely been a learning experience and he’s grateful that he now truly understands the ins and outs involved with these projects.
